About International Chardonnay Day

Held each year on the Thursday before the last Monday in May, Chardonnay Day was the brain-child of social media early adopter Rick Bakas who created it in 2010 to help support struggling wineries following the global financial crisis. There are now days for many different grape varieties.

About Adelaide Hills Chardonnay

The Adelaide Hills has achieved global acclaim from wine critics, wine show judges and wine lovers alike for the high quality and style of its modern Chardonnay wines. It is one of Australia’s leading regions for this French grape, which excels in cooler climates. Adelaide Hills first began producing Chardonnay in the 1970s and has become re-known for producing ‘New Australian / New Wave’ Chardonnay wines which are elegant, textured and lean but which have the acid structure to age and evolve.
